have you checked the version you are running of Opera.
There are some customisations that are going round to MiniOpera. Make sure you are running the 'official' release version (latest) to see if tha is the same.

Even weirder stuff (but good news): had a severe phone crash last night with everything freezing up (even the bluetooth link to my computer had crashed so severely that I had to restart the Toshiba BT center on my laptop).
Anyway, after restarting the M600 I noticed that the annoying "space bug" was gone as mysteriously as it had come. I can only hope that further phone crashes won't make the bug to return...
