i'll definitly say that
1. ur lens need cleaning(go to a nearby service centre to talk abt the scratches)
2. check all ur settings...(try to use night mode if ure at home...may SOMETIME be useful...)(click "mode:Picture Quality:tick it to fine or normal...if urs was in normal, tick to fine){pic size set to medium OR extended if u do not intend to zoom...dun use zoom...spoils ur pic quality}
3. upgrade it to the latest firmware
this pic is taken on this settings:
extended,fine picture quality,with night mode
this pic is taken on this settings:
extended,fine picture quality,NO NIGHT MODE
as u can see, there is a diff between night mode and non. also try to hold a steady hand when taking the pics...
always remember, the cam is only VGA...what u expect from VGA?
try my steps out...hope its usefull although messy
i've tried my best to help...if possible, ask masseur to help...he was one of the first few to buy and write a review of k700i

The camera quality on my k700i is not good. Sure it's vga but so is my p910i's but my p910i takes better shots except in low light situations.
