There are just a couple of limitations about M3 which stop me using it. Firstly, I don't find the cropping options flexible enough. I don't like watching videos with black bars at the top or bottom. I'd much prefer to be able to be able to directly control cropping by specifying the number of pixels at the top and at the side.
Secondly (and this is a bit of a technical point), M3 adds "hint" tracks to both the video and audio streams. M3 does this when applying the "UIQ3 delay fix" towards the end of the conversion process. Hint tracks aren't actually required to remove the UIQ delay (they are only relevant for streaming video) and in fact makes the filesizes of the converted videos larger than they need to be.
M3 is otherwise excellent, and if the above points aren't important to you then I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Regards,
Malcolm

Those black bars would make me stop using M3 or any other converter but in a case of M3 I always get full screen after conversion and I converted a lot of dvd movies with it.

I use WinTV to record movies from my Sky box onto my PC in MPEG format. Some movies are recorded with black bars at the top and bottom. The black bars are 36 pixels in width. None of the M3 cropping options remove them neatly, which is why I use FFMPEG which allows the user to specify the exact cropping dimensions (as well as every other video conversion option you can possibly think of). FFMPEG is the underlying command-line based conversion engine used by a number of video converters like Super. FFMPEG is also freeware.
After converting to mp4, I watch the movies on my P990 on the train on the way to work. It's great

i used to use M3 but lately its been encoding files weirdly. they will play for a time then the screen goes black. to get it to play again u have to scan passed that bit. the really strange thing is that it happens at different points on each file.
Now i use the divx player, altho not perfect its functional, and pocketDivx Encoder. Use the PDA profile and ramp the quality up.

I use M3 when possible, but some files doesn't just convert correctly or at all with M3 so sometimes I also use Videora..
Also an free converter, although made for Ipod Video you can change the settings on the profile an bit and have files for the W950 that works without any problems.
But personally I think the quality are a tad bit better with the M3 encodes.

Since I had licenced smart movie for my P910, LCG sent me keygen for UIQ3 version (P990) of it. All I can say is that M3 is a 1.000 x better converter. All glory to its creator.
