Have it returned and serviced . . . try some minor remedies, like master reset, taking OFF and back ON the battery again . . . charge the fone while ON.

jojo is right. we forgot to mention those things. but i got some feeling that it is a hardware issue as the sound through the headphones is heard. try a master reset.

Is the handsfree icon showing on the top bar? Maybe the phone is stuck in handsfree mode, maybe a master reset can do the trick. If not, then you have to take it to a service center.
