@bad - Here at my end ANYTHING is possible when activating a celfone, to the extent that IMEIs can easily be CHANGED, those lock codes are just a thing ofthe past . . .

I lost my V800 recently.
I had it password protected via SIM lock so that another Sim card could not be inserted, I filled out a Police report the sme day, had the Sim card barred by the network and finally had the IMEI blacklisted.
NZ has only one GSM network provider, so you'd think that would do the trick wouldn't you... but no
the finder refuses to hand it in.
I know someone who found a V800 months earlier.
There was no way I could get him to do the right thing. He became defensive and abusive!
