on a few phones i have had, it has been birth years. i start off at 1900 and work my way up to about 1999/2000, i usually find the code when i get to around 1960 and the phone unlocks itself

You'd need a service cable and a copy of SEMCtool 8.4 but you could read the code that way. I've just got a service cable and I've got a (cracked) copy of SEMCtool, I could have a go at resetting the code for you if you wanted

Though i've little experience with the service cable so far!
