Got a Sony TV, my Mini-hifi is a Sony, as well as the ton of SE mobiles I have!

Think they're the only Sony items we have... though I think my wife has an old Sony Walkman - a CD one and the cassette player variety!

I'm on my5th or 6th Vaio in a row, got a Sony projector and Sony screen, Sony DVD player, Sony dolby surround system, Sony bedside Radio, Sony credit card size radio, a few Sony headsets ex71,ex81, cordless etc etc, sony bedside clock radio, A Sony (not sony ericcson) phone - the Z5m... I'm sure there is more, oh, and my wife has a vaio desktop

I'm in the market for a 50" LCD TV at the mo and have been to a few shops looking at them ('coz you can't just one one off the net as the quality varies so much). but to be honest I have been dissapointed with the Bravias of that size compared with the Sharp Aquos and the Panasonic Viera and a couple others, so I don't think I'll be getting a new Sony TV

Obviously cheaper to see it in a shop and buy it online.

yeah, I'm only looking at 1080p and I'm fairly sure I saw that one up Tottenham Court Road yesterday.

I also saw it in a Sony Centre in Crawley last week and on tyheir own they look great, but in the shops in TCR you can see them next to other brands and they really didn't stand up to the test. I even got the sellers to plug the same feed into different TV's so I could be sure I was comparing similar with similar.

To be honest I had gone out expecting to get a Sony but there it is.

Anyway, don't want to make this into a thread for my TV hunt (perhaps I'll make another thread if I still have difficulty deciding)

I know at places such as John Lewis they did stock the top end Sony's the same as I posted in the 40" - 52" although becuase they are so expensive they were not selling. Apparently people tended to go for the Sony's below the flag ship ones.

I like the above one, the glass frame looks great, very modern and stylish.

I'm actually looking for another LCD for upstairs although 40" may be a tad big for an upstairs tv I don't know.

Which Vaio do you have? thats another thing I'm looking into.

And also Dells XPS M2010, again there quite big, I was thinking of something a bit portable which the XPS M2010 is'nt at 8KG.

I've got the VGN-SZ4VWN/X vaio which Sony claimed is the most powerful vaio ever. it certainly runs well on Vista Business. I prefer this size (13.3") since I travel alot but I have a 22" Acer widescreen monitor for home use

I know that laptop you have, it's the one with the graphite coloured finish is'nt it? Vista Bussiness is actually what put me off it as I see it only comes with Vista Business - Home premium or Ultimate for me. I'm running Ultimate on my desktop, Home premium would be plenty really on a laptop for me as it's just for personal use.

I do like these Viao latops though, it's very handy to have that motion eye integrated webcam. Also the picture clarity is very good on the Sony Vaio laptops.

vista business has done me ok so far but there is a built in option to upgrade to ultimate at any time for a small fee.

that 40" seems to be around £1000 from a quick google I did so yeah, not a bad price
