With service and support like that I wouldn't use Wotan for anything. Sounds like you can't trust them to sit the right way on a toilet seat, let alone work on your phone. I've always used DaVinci Team and their support is first class.

I know this is Mad. But You could email the UK customer service center or ring the uk number. We have a Service Repair Center that normal deal with any SE phone. However as yours is the prototype im not sure if they would look at it. But its worth a try. They may even give you a flat fee for repairng it.
Other than that its back to Ebay. The K800i currenlty here in the uk is £179 which is about $345, I wish i could be more help.
I hope you do get it sorted or manager to get a k790 phone.

Sure. Anything that worked before will work after. You're replacing the branded firmware with the non-branded firmware that SE would install if you bought the phone directly from them.

The reason I went with the prototype was because it is the ONLY way to get a quad-band K790 phone. SE in their infinite wisdom desided to split it into two models but I wanted to have a phone that I can use in the US (850mhz) and in Eastern Europe (900mhz)... I'm thinking of buying the bottom case from cnn.cn and then calling in back to the Service center. THey woulndn't know what the phone is until and unless they fix it at which point of time it won't matter (either way). $100 repair or $25 diagnostic if irreperable - I'm willing to take a chance to possibly salvage my phone. I'm getting tired of using my backup (AudioVox SMT5600 WinMo
)

Thanks for the increadibly unhelpful advice there folks. Maybe you should post inside this Very important update that it shouldn't be performed on prototypes. Besides, the phone had current flash already since it was updated by SETool once before. Your upgrade is what caused it to be bricked. Your customer service was absolutely worthless. I really wish I had seen this reply sooner...

Just wanted to let people know - after almost a full year of my phone being dead due to piss-poor service by Wotan I was able to revive it back to life with the help of an SETool owner and 4-in-1 cable. He repaired my EROM over with USB-over-network.com and my phone is back alive again. If Wotan had a Simple check in place to detect that the phone THEY are recommending to get EROM Flashed has a BROWN cert and not RED then this would have never happened. Their software's Logs SHOW that it saw exactly what 'color' my phone was and still proceeded to botch it up.
If this has happened to anyone else - head to mobile-files.com and lookup the SETool forum seciton. Very helpful people and you don't have to invest into the whole setup. As long as you have the 4-in-1 cable most of them will do it for very little if anything.
