I'll go with the K790 no DOUBT ! If I were to choose between the K750 and the K550 . . . I would still go with the - K750, now . . why would I compare the K790 with a K550 (over-all comaprison)

I'm interested in K790a vs. K550i because they are both "Cybershot" phones, each with the US' GSM frequencies + EDGE. So they are somewhat comparable, save for the points in my first post in this thread.

Why would you have choosen the old K750 instead of a K550? Weird for me. For almost 2 years ago I had a K750 (bought it the day it came out, 2005-05-23) and for some weeks ago I bought the K550. (I had a M600i between these phones also).
The K550 feels much more "up-to-date" than the old K750. Better screen, thinner design, better UI and so on. The features is almost the same, except for some difference, to the K550 advantage. (like Track-ID, better Bluetooth etc).
But back to the thread-creators choice. I would have said it depends which one you choose. The difference in cameras between the K790 and the K550 is rather big, especially that the K550 lacks xenon-flash. But the camera on the K790 isnīt good enough for me, so I saved some money, did get a slimmer and newer phone for less money, and bought the K550.

I really liked the contour of the fone, keypads, joystick and the cam's 'cover' at the back (specially if to compare with the 'round-and-round . . . you go' of the W800's . . . I will still GET the K750 against that of the K550 . . . but as per thread's title . . . still the K790 here

dont be in doubt. go for k550. its quad band (as you said you can use it in europe or any part of the world.) plus you are saving some money also. so the choice depends on your need.

The taste is different. You have a point. The K750 is hard to beat. I also loved my K750 when I had one.
But one thing is better on the K750 compared to the K550, the keypad. The keys on the K550 is easy to know when you have or not have pushed them, but they are rather "sharp" and thin.
The keys on the K790 is also very nice to use compared to the K550, but thats the only advantage I would have paid for to get, compairing K550/K790.
