it could be something to do with the memory stick---- try saving the photo's to the phone memory.
something to do with the mem stick could be broke. that's what happend to my phone. just take it to where you baught it, they will fix it

I get a similar problem on my D750, for about a month now I haven't been able to take pics, videos are fine, but whenever the 'shutter' goes the camera just reverts back to the desktop and the picture isn't saved. I think it's a software problem but I aint rightly sure, grateful if anyone else can get to the bottom of this.
Ericsson helpfully suggested I get a software upgrade from their site. (A master reset didn't help although it did get rid of my themes, which is why I've ended up here, trying to get a theme which is legible under bright daylight). I haven't worked out how to update the software yet, so dunno if that will fix the problem.

Could either be a problem with the camera button (try it in the service menu) or a problem with the camera's ribbon cable.
