It is awarded to your account after X many successful transactions using Pay Pal without problems from memory. As i never applied or activated it just appeared on my sales.
Luke know what you mean as otherwise Pay Pal only pay just over £100 at today's exchange rate. Personally doesn't matter how good it looks if a seller doesn't have full protection or i can collect and pay in cash i just don't buy. Better safe than sorry IMO.

NO
Ebay is the center of counterfiet activity - especially for memory cards.

sorry for hijacking this thread

but i bought a phone on ebay last week paid through paypal and emailed seller to tell her i had paid.
the paypal payment status is unclaimed and the seller has not contacted me and thats 2 emails i have sent now. does a paypal payment not go through straight away when its paid through ebay? because i have never had the unclaimed status showing before.
sorry again for hijacking thread but hope somebody can help as i don't actually know what to do if the seller does not reply to emails and payment is actually unclaimed.

That means that the seller's Paypal settings are set to not automatically accepting a payment, they therefore have to log into their Paypal account to accept the payment. Perhaps you paid by credit card?

no the money came directly from cash thats already sitting in my paypal. i'm thinking she may be on holiday somewhere for easter so will wait until end of this week until i do anything about it. As money is unclaimed all i need to do is click cancel and thats that.

Ive had that happen a few times,
thats when you have sent payment to someone but the email address is incorrect well thats what ive been told!
Payments when sent should always come up as cleared when you send them, or if you pay ebay sellers fee's those take the piss.
I made a payment to them 3rd and now ive gotta wait till the 16th for Paypal to sort it.
Im sick of ebays account system sending me emails every 12 days asking me to pay £12.66p off when they should send me emails every month there account systems pathetic!
The person selling the phone looks dodgey,
wouldn't be surprised if he did sent out the phone then 6mths down the line it's barred!
if you want this phone you should get it from a shop atleast you know where it's coming from then don't you!
