But if the phone (being wooden) wouldnt after a few years (of rain etc) you would expect the wood to rot away?

Then you are left with a crap phone,

But other than that........looks quite nice

I think in this case the wood would be specially treated,so it will be quite imune to water damage and other natural elements.
