true, and no one here claimed that sms over gprs is free. you just get to send it to the smsc faster.

For me is the complete opposite. GSM signal at my place is flaky while I always get a "full bar" of GPRS signal. I can send SMS 98% of the time when SMS access is via GPRS while I do not get the same results when using GSM. (BTW, I live around 30 kilometers south of Metro Manila...
