i think it's because you flashed your d750 with w800 firmware

Could be... It's the same display for both phones, but there are two versions of the LCD. The fw thinks it drives the other version.

i have a k750 - w800 start up etc.... and housing....
any ideas?

http://kannada.wen.ru maybe it'd help.But now i think that the w8 is not compatible with that screen.Try shaking your phone a bit but be careful you don't drop it.Still,if the phone REPAIRED itself after you flashed,you must have shacked it or maybe it recieved some extra current which made it active.Similarly,if you had carried the bag then probably it recieved a jerk.Still it's a HARDWARE problem and that's clear.

this could be a hw issue... i've seen such flashed phones (k750-w800) and this problem of yours did not occur with their units.
try to check it out again and isolate all possible causes until you arrive at the correct cause before doing anything with it... consider everything, mate!
