instead of wap emulator we can use Opera Browser, it handles wap sites too.

Ya buddy, you are right, opera on pc is capable of displaying wap sites. But at times it fails to encode them, and some fields go missing or the source code of the page is displayed.

it happens at times when you access wml sites with php scripting, Btw emulators too have their own use if you don't happen to use opera..

mobile specific sites should all shift to xhtml from wml, since almost all new phones are xhtml compatible...

Yes, they've developed sites now on xhtml. But what about sites which are already on wml, its cubersome and expensive for developers to redevelop them, moreover wml format enables universality, so no one's left out.
