the keyboard is good and has attracted some attention from other N95 users I have bumped into in the office.

to be honest though its taking a bit of getting used to. The key spacing is different from keyboards I normally use so I am having to rethink my style a little

also, although I am a very fast typist, I do often look at the keyboard half the time and the screen the other half but all those characters on some of the keys really put me off. (note for those who have not seen the keyboard: the extra characters are for users in different languages. for example the Y key also has a Z on it for german users etc). I suspect that will become less of a problem as I get a better feel for key spacing and look at the keyboard less.

its very light and compact but as I'm still on the battery you supplied it to me with I have no idea on battery life

I'll give it until my next trip back to oz in 5 weeks and see how it goes on board and when travelling

someone else will have to comment on that. the gps is a toy for me really as I use my Garmin most of the time. it might come in useful occassionaly when I don't have the Garmin with me but I'm certainly in no position to give useful comment

the sat nav drains the batt of course, cos u have to have bt on, but imo the constantly light on is the real responseable for a faster drain. for a longer trip car charger is a must

huh? I might not know much about the GPS but I do know you don't need to have bluetooth on! the GPS is built in!!!

edit: package contents but it varies regionally as Asia get a case too, apparantly

On the thread title:-

Yes, N95 is what is made out to be. Everything is near perfection except battery life which last me a full 48hrs on moderate use (without using gps).

With the new firmware, the UI is made even faster from one which is already fast. Out-of-RAM error is also lesser than before.

=======
On GPS, I have "used" it quite a lot (well just a novelty as I dont really need one in tiny Singapore). From full charge with navigation + backlit on all the time, from full to battery warning is slightly less than 2hrs. So a car charger is a must for long trips.
