I will certainly NOT buy one. Before that, I would by a N95. I will wait until the successor for the p990i is out.

I will also wait for the true p990 successor. I like the p1, but i prefer the flip design

It looks like a good upgrade for my E61, and I may opt for it instead of the E61i. Not certain yet though.

I'm currently using the P910i, and I'd be more than happy to get this phone. I've been eying it since it was in the rumor mill as the P700/P1000 back then, lol !

I'm just wondering whether those dual sided keys are usable to SMS when I'm driving. But considering I could SMS with a Treo 650 while driving back then, it should be ok I guess.

I'm fairly happy that it doesn't have a flip. Don't get me wrong, I love the flip on my P910i, but unfortunately it isn't that robust, and spoils after a while, and a lotta people here(Malaysia) have the same situation (P900/P910). I"m not sure whether it happens in the P990, but the replacement flips are waaay too expensive, so I'm currently using the virutal flip

Bottom line? I'll definately get this phone. The only thing that I could think its missing is GPS, but its not that important yet. I'll give it a couple of months for them to release a firmware fix for the major bugs(there always will be ), and wait for the price to drop to a reasonable level, then I'll pick one up

Cheers,
Kinson

I really want to get it, and I have to say I probably will if they don't wait too long to release it. My biggest worry is the keypad - I just don't know if I'd get on with it, being so used to the normal phone keypad...

Guess I'll have to try one before I buy it, as that's about the ONLY thing I don't love about it!

I quite dont understand why is it a big deal not having Wifi g in a phone.. PDA phones are not super computers.. they have a limited processor speed.. on top of that websites only allow a limited amount of bandwidth for d/loading stuff.. Wifi b gives one more then adequate conncectivity which wouldnt comprise your wifi needs at all .. i would advise people to do a short Wiki (go to wikipedia.com) on these standards (a,b,g...)
