I've used Sony ms before and they are much faultier than Sandisk produced ms (sandisk being a dedicated storage solution company).
I'm wondering, has anyone else here tried it on a P990, if so, is it really not compatible with the device? Do share your experience here because I'm definitely thinking of getting one soon, should there be some success story here. I'm sure many others are just as curious.

Hi Ahmed,
I was amazed as well!
The company I bought mine from
http://www.mymemory.co.uk tell me that

now say the max size for P990i is 4Gig so mymemory have now updated their site to say max is 4Gig and refunded me all my money, It seems thay have had loads of them returned by P990i users just typical of

marvelous testing program

P990i whitepaper says:
Memory Stick provides a convenient way of adding storage and other functions to a wide range of devices. P990i supports Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo. A 64 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo is supplied with P990i and
sizes up to 8 GB are supported.
I think your 8GB stick was a dud.

Even after more than a year of launching P990 SE has not updated its website/manual stating that this phone supports only up to 4GB. Isn't it a daylight robbery if 4GB is the maximum capacity supported?

Is that true that the P990 is only designed to "properly handle" 2GB? I am using 4GB card and boy it is pretty slow when I try to play songs from the tracks listing (but it is very fast if i play directly from file manager but that defeats the purpose of the music player right?!)
Please help if you have some tips how to make the music player work faster using a 4GB memory card. Thanks guys!

Well I have tried installing an 8Gig card and it doesnt work! and the supplier I bought it from says loads of others have had the same problem. So I would say SE's white paper if only fit for one purpose, cut it up and hang it next to the toilet!!!

@BBS:
Check the current
P990i user guide. Technical data on page 64 lists 8 GB as the maximum supported.
