There was a problem 2 updates ago when SM was conflicting with the phone but they made a quick update and it was ok afterwards. i know one thing: starting SM will eat some of your memory as well as any other programs. In fact, sometimes I have to exit SM in order to run some programs at the same time.I have the pro version.

More 'no responding' and 'restarts' !!!
This is really strange now, I formatted my phone completely with the hidden menu, and yet I experience 'to improve performance' restarts and the phone sometimes STOPS RESPONDING WHEN I MAKE A CALL!!

Yes...its SWISS MANAGER !! I don't know why, but its the ONLY application that I have on my P990i, and it makes my phone restarts.
We are absolutely sure that your conclusion is wrong and Swiss Manager (either Free or Pro) per se does not cause restart or any other problem.
the phone is on and its actually off is frustrating me (meaning: the phone is in standby mode looking 'on' on my current network, where in reality, its off and the phone application simply doesn't respond !!

Obviously your phone has some serious defect which is unrelated to Swiss Manager, but apparently the problem may be triggered by installing and/or running any application, including Swiss Manager.

I had the same problem with X-plore beta version twice when I used the program to check the contents of folders in the phone. There was no other programs, except SMPro was running. Now I have unistalled X-polre.

Answering with your own words:
the phone is in standby mode looking 'on' on my current network, where in reality, its off and the phone application simply doesn't respond !!
I formatted my phone completely with the hidden menu, and yet I experience 'to improve performance' restarts and the phone sometimes STOPS RESPONDING WHEN I MAKE A CALL!!
So, as you say, your P990 works unreliably and even prevents you from making calls. That can be considered as a serious defect (provided you bought it for using as a phone).
how do I get over it?
Standard answer is: do an online reflash or take it to a service center. It is hard to say anything else without seeing the details.

lisa,
i am using the Pro version, and i have to say it was giving me problems also..
I sent you pictures before of my first problems, when the app wouldnt boot up from start, and when launched it was giving the error code 821(iirc)..
(Im a little dissapointed you never got back to me about that, as it still does it, and you never explained why.)
anyway, since then i have had calls cutting off after only a min or 2, thanks to SMP's memory reclaim, even when i turn it off!
Ive also had problems of restarting for no reason when i boot SMP up sometimes...
I uninstalled SMP and my phone was working perfectly......so i thought it may have been just some glitches, so i installed SMP again, and the problems started happening again.
I know you seem so sure of your products reliability, but in my opinion, as good as they are, they are not quite as solid as you either believe or hope. My experiences with SMP have not been that solid im afraid.

So all this time SM helped the SE flagship stay afloat. now, after the latest FW most of us don't use the program anymore. But do not bash it. It's not the SM. Itls got to be something else. Sorry to feel this way, but I will stand for Lisa on this. No ma,tter what. They were the only ones to figure how to make this phone function for like 8 months and now they make ur phone crash. Hard to believe.

@ kalu
No, its not hard to believe.
Because nothing is perfect, not even in the world of programming.
Maybe thats why SE is NOT able to produce a fully bug-free firmware (yet).
Same goes for the people who created SM, which is in my opinion, a great program.
But there is no point in always saying the goods on something, and completely disregard the bads, just because we love it, or because it saved our day, or whatever reason.
What started this thread is that I found that SM uninstalled, the phone became more stable, with no restarts, or hanging. This was just my personal observation and surprisingly, I found some people sharing the same situation !
still hard to believe?
