i noticed with R5 you could make a SMS and the latest contacts stay in a recently sent contacts menu to save you going through your phone book and ticking a contact?

R6 is pony

for me its step back

then again i would'nt mind reverting to R5 for this reason... can i do it for free??

why you want to downgrade? the R6 is much more stable than R5

In some ways it is, but it creates a real problem with TomTom as you can no longer recive or make calls whilst it is running! and it mucks up automatic email downloads at pre determined times. Cheers Sony Ericsson you have excelled yourselves

Nitro, just tried what you refer with TomTom running, and it worked...i both was able to receive and make calls.

Have to check the automatic email downloads though

Hey ares good to see you back! I have tried this again today and it is still causing me probs, let me explain.

I can make a call now but cant get back to TomTom the phone freezes and requires a restart

Incomming calls are automaticaly handled by the phone not to my BT headset and I cant find a way of retrieving them in the headset.

Heeeeelp!!

. . .

Go to Control panel -> Call settings -> Handsfree and enable the option "Always route answered calls to Bluetooth".

This works fine on my phone with the latest R6 firmware. Did you restore an old backup after updating?

i have never upgraded my firmware..(thats because i don't have windows xp service pack 2 on my computer to intsall the PC suite software) i have the original firmware shipped with teh unit

org: R2A05
cda: 162007/8 R2A04 - singapore ch/en

should i upgrade my firmware? i do have occasional problems like kern- exec errors and reboots to improve performance and odd freezes. but i seem to manage my task manger well enough to not occur these problems often. i would like to increase speed and stabilty and multi app usage.

when doing a firmware upgrade from the SE website do you have the option to choose which firmware to install (accoring to your cda)?

i would like to upgrade to the R5A16 or R4A13 as i read they are the most stable with least amount og bugs?

any insight or thoughts would be great. thanx

yes!!! I did it...downgraded from R6 to R5...good thing i have a spare credit from kulankendi...it was risky at first since if i mess things up, i need to buy another credit & it takes forever to get the credit i know...it was my last lucky credit...change it to PHilippines trade generic & when i booted up, it says i have R6 so i updated at SEUS (just once) and after the update, now i have R5...
i know i'm going to miss few features of R6 (clear pic thumbnails & few little things only) but it's important for me to have that email bug removed...hopefully if they will continue releasing updates then i will update my fone again after all the reviews...hehehe...good luck to us

Of course you can. The CDA to go for should be CDA162008/91 - and the easiest way to achieve this should be to use kulankendi.com or davinciteam.com to change the CDA.

After this just run SEUS...
