I'm looking forward to that one...with zoom enough to be used as a binocular!

I like paul101's idea. The gigapixel camera in such small device like K750 would be GREATEST thing ever. But how much years we will have to wait to see that miracle .

I would say, within 5 Years we should expect the following:

- 6 to 10 Megapixel camera would become standard on mobile phones. Video recording quality to reach current miniDV camcorder quality level.

- Touchscreen to be standarised across most mid to high end phones.
More emphasis on Bigger screens and smaller keypads (i believe the keypad is here to stay) & scratch resistant screens, PC grade resolution.

- Real-Time SMS apps to be standard (IM), fueled by lower costs of datacomm (3g, etc).

- Ultra light weight, emphasis on metallic body.

- Improved battery technology (3+ days talk time).

- Emphasis on Green Solutions integration (such as solar charging, low power consumption, low radiation emissions, non toxic materials for handset & battery etc)

- Computrization of mid to high end (non pda) mobile phones , in turn making them much powerful than current (built in high frequency processor, dedicated high capacity ram memory, graphics memory, etc)

- Powerful hardware will allow powerful software, i expect Vista style OS User interface (fully animated & interactive), with ability to run powerful applications, such as sofisticated picture & video editing software, real 3D games.

- Storage demand is huge, current 8GB limit too small for high end users,i expect Bigger storage capacities, 20GB + for external mem card, or integration of high capacity ultra compact nano micro HDD into higher end phones.

- Wifi standard on mid range phone, Ultra high range wirless comm (replacing bluetooth, mabye v4??). VOIP integration standard.

- Ability to conntect your mobile phone to any LCD monitor to use it as a PC.

Well that's what i can think of right now , but i feel the recent surge of strong demand and competition on ultra high end phones (nokia N series, SE 850, W9xx) will really push developers to break the current limits faster than we might think

I would agree with klartz but I think 3mp let alone 5 will be enough. The camera's sensor will be to samll to capture images at that size. The images will proberly be grainy and smuged because the sensor cant take all the saturated coulers. I doubt very much SE will put in a dedicated camera sensor in there phones. It may even me impossible to icompilish, fitting a huge sensor in a small device.

I think the camera's we have now (cmos sensors) are here to stay for some time. I dont think k850's images will be much better than the already awsome k800's pictures. The sensors are to small to compete. I dont think a camera with all those megapixels you guys are saying would be very praticle. Remember more megapixels dont mean better quality. A dedicated 2mp sony would proberly wipe the floor with the k800.

To be honest, its hard to think of what will be put into phones in that time. Imagine a sneak peak in the future! Imagine all the other features they will have apart from a camera.

In 5 or 10 years, there maybe a slider design were it is a real gamming station. I would be nice if they could fit 30gb internal memory. If ipod can do it why no SE in phones?

@Sherry 50mp? We dont even have that in dedicated cams yet alone phones. That would proberly take crappy pictures. If nasa is currently using 160mp cameras and even a lot more I very much doubt 50mp eill be available. And who would use that anyway? Would you use pictures to fill a cinema screen? i dont think so.

what I would like is:

- a phone lock by voice command, so you cant do anything anymore unless you have the right voice and command code (just like startrek)

- a auto destruct, for the phone or for data on the phone (something like, if your phone is stolen and the sim has been replaced, then it would be great to have a service in which you could go to some special internet page/or to your provider and enter there some code's and sensitive data is deleted or the phone is useless, of course you can or could also track it down to its location)
