Even if it is related to Hardware...it still can be a java based software right?

As some of the walkman player v2.0 user will notice...we cannot use the player to play video compare to v1.0
i wonder if someone can access down to the source and fix it
anyway...i get kinda offsetting this thread.

afaik, a java app can't play a format not inherent to the phone...

Actually potentially it could, as long as the phone's processor could keep up with the decoding.

Its probably a simple Java application like any other, but with its icon on the main menu rather than the application one.

I think the media player is integrated in the firmware and it is not a java application. It is known that

non-smart phones are based on java engine, but it doesn't mean that the applications that seem to be the phone firmware content are java applications. So this is why I think the walkman is not a java app:
Look at the W800 for example (or W810 as you wich). They are legendary walkman phones

. Both of them are java engine enabled phones and support running java applications and games. So everyone knows that

phones can do multitasking with the internal apps (newer models can multitask java apps...) but in the case with the W810 you cannot run more than one java app at the same time. So, if the media player was java application, we wouldn't be able to run any java app or game installed in the applications/games folder while the walkman is playing. And when running the player, we don't suffer from any issues when running a java app at the same time. So it is not a java app IMO.
