I tot song have its life span limit... any song tat is over 10yrs old is free to have it remake or taken to use.
I think the minimum length of time is 50 years? That's why Cliff Richard sorry, SIR CLIFF RICHARD has been kicking up a stink lately. Apparantly, some of his earliest songs have expired their copyright and the stupid, vein, talentless t**t sorry, VETERAN ARTIST doesn't seem to like this despite the large number of Rolls-Royce's he owns.

Nah, you can still buy the rights to recordings. You can't rip a song off and claim it as your own for at least 50 years after the original was either written or recorded, one or the other

that's all
As I say, I'm not totally sure about the legal side of it but that turtle-necked b*****d sorry, Sir Cliff was whinging that he was scared about people making making money out of his s***y, god-awfull 'music' sorry, highly popular recordings just a couple of years ago or so!

Doesn't MJ own the rights to Happy Birthday!?
Hence the reason why they always sing "for he's a jolly good fellow" as oppose to "happy birthday" in the Queen Vic (stenders) to avoid royalties or am I talking S*1te?

@nanu
Quite possibly! I recall reading that somewhere too
Song rights and plagiarism or two completely different things, the whole industry is fooked oop nowadays
I got threatened with legal action for playing Radio 2 in my computer repair workshop. Some dickhead of a customer who works for the beeb grassed me up!. Apparently, it counts as 'public performance' and as such, I need a special license
The words 'f**k', 'you', 'sad', 'w****r' and 'B******s' were used liberally the next time I saw him in the pub, surprisingly enough
