Years ago, in the days of Windows 98 and Internet Explorer 5, I made a web page with a button on it saying 'If you press me, you'll get the blue screen of death' with my email address underneath it. Sure enough, if you pressed the button it ran a Script that caused a buffer overflow presenting the user with a nice, genuine BSOD.
I posted it to a viral email site and waited to see what happened. Guess how many emails I got complaining about my page crashing people's PCs?
1467 in two weeks!

Nah, it wasn't evil! You only had to ctrl-alt-delete to restart, it didn't do any permanent damage

And if anyone lost any work through it then they should have learned a valuable lesson about saving stuff regularly!
I just wanted to see how many people would actually press the button...
