Apparently the 'UK music industry' are not too happy about this free new album giveaway.
Apparently it demeans the value of music, lowers the perceived value of music to the buying public.
I can see their point... if Prince can afford to give away his brand new album for free, why does every other artist charge £10 - £15 for a new release album?
But then, if everyone gave music away for free, it would become 'valueless'and no-one would ever be prepared to buy a new album. Plus the artists would make even less money than they do now after everyone has taken their cut...

I don't think it's that Prince gave it away for free..
the mail ha to pay an obscene amount of money to do it...
chap said on Radio2 today he needed to sell 2.5 million papers..
So i guess he paid Prince whatever 2.5 mil mails on Sunday costs!!

Last time I went in there I approached the young lady behind the counter and enquired "hmm, excuse me, do you have anything by 'The Doors'? " she replied, "why yes sir we have a fire extinguisher and a security guard" needless to say it was the last time I paid them a visit!
