Ok then-The speed depends on the network, how busy it is at the time when you download. Have you tried it in morning hours??
Also it depends on the operator to operator. Btw any of your friend get the speed of 57kbps??

But i myself has used it on my laptop with saying 115kb/s but in reality i guess it was not more then 15kb/s.it took 15mins in open google search page. Its annoying.

The speeds you are telling are in KiloBITES per second (Kbps), while the Pc uses kiloBYTES (KBps)as the storage unit, to convert, divide Kbps with 8, so 47Kbps = 5.8KBps

I think u can't get more than 20 kbps in mobile gprs, i usually got around 7 to 15 kbps and i think there is no other way to increase it further, i don't know wheither 3g or edge help me because both are unavailable to my phone, however i got the class 10 gprs (around 40 to 48 kbps),
thanks

i think that speed is normal because the speed of gprs completely depends on the network most of the time the network is busy because it also depends upon voice traffic i am using edge phone at night i get 64kbps speed but at day time when there is voice traffic i get around 15 using edge
so i think if u want speed better go 4 3g othervise respective to gprs ure getting a really good speed

I think that consulting your mobile operator could be the best thing to do.

Yeah, speed depends on your own network, but you could try using an openDNS setting.
Uncheck 'automatic' and try entering these-
Primary, 208.067.222.222
Secondary, 208.067.220.220
An openDNS setting runs independantly of a bog standard network setting, so isnt affected by how many customers are using it.

How is faster? Using Opera Mini or Mobile Internet default browser?
I also heard that surfing the web with Opera you have less traffic than the default browser.
