why not just get it unblocked form the network think you can phone up and they and unblock it from their database?

Once blocked it can only be unblocked by the person who originally had it done.

I would rather do it this way to be honest .. then its over and done with and whoever buys the phone knows exactly what they are getting.

We may all be out of pocket by about £20 max but at least Tom isn't stuck with the problem on his own unlike when Topscooby sold me the 8800 and then just walked away leaving me to sort it out.

ok I had a close shave with this one.

I was on the verge of buying this from WelshTom. Then he sent through the photos and it had a few too many scratches for me. So I didn't go through.

Then my friend ZootZoot asked me if I wanted an Lg Shine and it turned out it was same one WelshTom had a week earlier so didn't agree a sale either as I needed a mint one.

Anyway, my point was not to rub salt in the wounds of those who did get involved in the chain ..as I have been stuck with a barred phone a few times in the past especially with ebay sales and non-responsible sellers and it really sucks....but was to maybe make the situation easier and ask...how much would you think you can pass the LG Shine on for?
as I may be able to make arrangements to dispose of it

Yasman

I don't think we should be discussing the disposal of blocked phones on the forum, even if it is none of the members involved fault but once the handset has been returned I am sure someone will contact you

I think the photos Jon did you must have been a bit iffy because when I got it off him it was in excellent condition (I still have the photos here I took from when I sold it to Tom) .. hopefully it is still the same

Firstly I would like to say a very big 'thank you' to MikeP. His attitude towards this entire affair has been first class! I know a lot of people would have just chosen to turn a blind eye (like those lower down the chain) and leave me out of pocket. I would also like to extend my thanks to voda_jon now that he has also agreed to help.

What upsets and angers me though is that this phone never seems to have left the 'esato community' and someone has deliberately commited fraud knowing full well they are leaving other members out of pocket for their own gain. I thoroughly hope that this person gets what they deserve and is scammed themselves at some point in the future.

I have requested the phone be returned to me by ZootZoot to which he has agreed. The photos I sent to Yasman are exactly representative of how I recieved the phone and as a result the condition it was in when ZootZoot recieved it (I never used the phone as I mistakenly bought the wrong model - I needed the 3g version) So the condition I recieve the returned phone in can be compared to these photos.

Regards,
Tom

mybe the owner lost his sim card and the operator blocked the handset by mistake because that happened to me one time when i lost my phone they place a sim and phone bar but barred the phone than came with the contract instead of the phone i was using at the time. my should try to contact the original owner as someone post they have his contact details.
