Works fine for me too.

From the main screen jog up (one notch only), *, jog down (one notch only), jog down (one notch only), *, jog down (one notch only), *. Service menu appears OK. Option to format is there.

Yep, as per ERICL's post... I do it from the standby screen... You probably need to be a bit faster or make sure your not jogging it more than once etc...

Left hand jog dial... Right hand star key!

I do it in the phone screen on my P990. Hardly wait to get my P1i.

There isnt one on the P1, just the real deal key!

I'm sure it must be an issue with entering the code, that can be the only reason.

the "one notch only" is the one i needed to to know. thank you very much. i was able to access P1i service menu.
