Customs regularly charge VAT on imported goods, and having worked with x1387 on a regular basis, their packages still get hit with VAT, hence in the disclaimer they state you will have to cover the charges.

It is a risk, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't. The most important thing when deciding is if you declare the value $100, and it goes missing you are out the other $400+ you spent as there will be NO more compensation from the courier.

It is 50/50 whether you get hit with VAT. Some people do, some don't, all you have to do is decide whether you think it is worth the risk?

As for x1387 as a seller, couldn't say nicer things know the guys very well, and they are great, but they mainly aim at the US market where they can guarantee no import tax, anywhere else is a risk.

just my $.02

Very cool to know. I say take less risk as possible even from a reputable distributer. So put the full price of the unit not just the $100.

I WILL be ordering my next phone from x1387.

I didn't get any tax charges. I'm really pleased I went with this Ebay Seller as you get the following additional items:

1) Belt Case
2) Cigarette Charger
3) Screen Protector
4) Anti Slip Mat
5) 10 Software Choice Points (don't think you get this normally in the UK)
6) 1GB Memory Card (again, I don't think this is standard in the UK)
7) UK Plug adapter (as the P1i supplied is not a UK plug)

My ordered arrived three working days after I bid on the item - which is probably quicker than if it had gone via Royal Mail !

All in all I'm very pleased !
