I have yet to see an actual MEMBER of any forum i post on (about a dozen) who has personally experianced the much touted keypad problem.
W580i lacks UMTS, thats it's major letdown IMO.

I've had my W580i (Grey) for a week, here's a summary of my impressions:
Positives:
+ Great display (QVGA, 240x320) makes it easy to browse webpages and nice to play games.
+ Great looks. Everyone who sees it are impressed. Both girls and guys, even W880-owners.
+ The Walkman 2.0 interface is nice.
+ Kind of fun with some odd features like the pedometer, "shake to shuffle-function" and light effects. (Not too useful though)
+ Sony Ericsson's intuitive menu layout/features is getting really close to perfect!
+ Build quality is pretty good (see exception below). Best slider I've tried.
+ You can surf for free at home using a bluetooth-connection to your computer.
Negatives:
- THE KEYS HAVE ALREADY CRACKED! Both number 4 and 6. Getting my phone replaced. The keys are still fully functional...just irritating when the blue backlight shines through the crack.
- The loudspeaker is really lacking bass and midrange. My girlfriend's Z710i is way better.
- The Walkman specific "MegaBass"-option (only active on headphone output) is way overrated - why on earth would anyone like that grotesque boomy sound?? Better go for "Bass" or "Normal".
- Included themes are unimpressive and doesn't match the blue/grey colours of the casing.
- The camera is good for having fixed focus, but auto focus ones are better for close-ups (less than 1 m).
Conclusion:
Phone feels like the bang-for-the-buck sweetspot at the moment, especially amongst the Sony Ericsson line up. If only the keys wouldn't crack!!

Someone on another thread, (the S500 one I think) has said that his number 4 key on his W580i has cracked already.
