I think 30000 is right because otherwise the bill wouldn't be 300 pages long. Remember the pink RAZR someone posted with almost 2000 hours on the clock? There's just some people that are insane.

If the customer has itemised billing on their account, and the customer is stupid enough to send 35,000 texts a month, of course their going to get a large bill! AT&T were just doing as instructed by their written contract with the customer. You can guarentee if they didn't send it, and just sent her a bill for $350, she'd be pretty pissed off too, you can't win.

she probably types 1 message and sends it to hundreds or thousands of people registered on her website...
Most of my texts I type on my laptop and send thru my V630i using MyPhoneExplorer. I only send about 20 texts per month though so not much chance of my Vodafone bill exceeding the current 8 pages.

According to M-R the iphone has no 'forwarding' and 'send to more than one' or 'send to group' option. So it's tough to imagine 35000 sms in one month
