It depends what kind of phone type (stick/candy bar, slide/clam or touchscreen/smart) and specifications you want plus the functions you would use on it, camera, music, video calling, video etc/

I had a hard choice of what phone to choose for my upgrade. I had a Sony Ericsson W800i (which i still have!) but didn't really used the Walkman part of my W800i much and sometimes use the camera, so basically it was just a phone i really needed to make calls, text sometimes mms and use the WAP/check my e-mails on.

I prefered the more "stick/candy bar" type phones rather then the clam/slide and small/slim ones as i know and can feel it being there. I also wanted to stay with SE previously having other SE handsets. So i finally decided to move to the K series and get the K810i and upgraded my memory card to a Scandisk 1GB and i am very happy with it!

Looks like im in the same boat too. Have the Nokia N95 and dont like it. Want something abit more simple, and thinking of buying another K800 (previous phone i owned) or K810 or getting the K850 when released. Camera is putting me off the K850, looks worse than K800 and just increased resolution.

Then again the k850 is not much of of a step up from them.

Can you explain this to me? Why in such you said that K850 isn't much of a step up?

I was unsure about the buttons on the K810i at first but after having the phone for just over a week I find them quite easy for texting.

k810 or k850? i will go for k850. 1st, joystick of k810 will bring you no joy in due time. 2nd, better media applications and file managing in k850. 3rd, dual card slot in k850 is cool k810 is a rehashed k800. k850 is an upgrade.

Congrats! I'm sure you will be very happy with it like i am.

The buttons nearly spaced out and not bad. I find it's ok to text on them as well. The camera cover is good and its doesn't accidently slide open when it's in your pocket or bag unlike some users of the K800i have exprienced and reported!
