Did you actually see the live stream of the services and new UI or are you only commenting on the look at specs of the device. There was more about the services that Nokia are launching through what they call OVI which integrates web. Flickr and other services. It really is just not about the devices or the music store there really is much more to it than that.

We'll I dont think other manufacturers are far behind Nokia where technology is concerned, the problem is they just are not releasing the phones they've got in development....lol. Eg: Motorola have a 5Mpx touch screen phone in research with a cam unit made by Kodak, supposedly going through a re-design due to the iPhone.
The HTC Kaiser is a good alternative to the N95 BUT the N95 8GB looks like the grand daddy of all phones, they;ve crammed everything into it. If I do get a Nokia its that one.
The N81 is sersiously not impressive at all.......I'd prefer the W960 any day(of course if they're priced the same). The 81 hardly breaks any boundaries as such, seems like the same old tech crammed into a fancy body. least they could have done was implement a better cam even though the 81 is music oriented. And for what its packing the N81 is quite bulky from the specs.
Well other manufacturers might not be far behind 'on the paper' but reality on the shelves is different, Nokia and to a lesser extent SE do deliver their products but Samsung and Moto announce, tease and never deliver the goods (Samsung F700, Moto 5MP cam).
The N81 do include a few new twists, nothing ground breaking I'll give you that, but welcome additions none the less. Like the 'click wheel' (Thank you Apple!), the Ngage platform or the 3.5 audio jack.
Mind you I would be delighted to see the others (SE, LG, Samsung, Moto, ...) competing on the 'all in one device' market.

I've read on some other blog that the US N95 will get more RAM and the lens cover will make way for a bigger battery.
Anyone can confirm? I'd be gutted seeing this if I just bought a N95.
At least SE and Nokia have now accepted the fact that they con't be stingy anymore on the amount of RAM they put in their flagship smartphones.

@ Dogmann
I just saw the specs on paper. Bottom line.......the music stores are software related and the updated UI is eyecandy, nothing really sensational. The N95 8GB on the other hand IS sensational. I dont mean to argue with you but serisouly the Music store, I reall wonder how many use them, I work freelance in the cellphone industry in India, and here out of every 10 N95's sold, only 1 person would even utilise the EDGE/WiFi facility on the phone(No 3G in India). Mind you I'm not saying that the Music store and stuff is useless, all I'm saying the N81 is'nt worth much hype, its just the same old platform( N95....N93 etc..) with a old cam plonked onto it, a bit of fancy exterior, add a few apps, a little more eyecandy and viola you got the N81. While the N95 8GB is a piece of work worth of people "oohing or aaaahing about". We'll thats my opinion, and yours will vary since you may use those features on your phone and you might like the eyecandy while a Music store really is'nt a USP in my eyes also I rarely care how "beautiful" the UI , I just want it to work the way its meant to work, which we will see only after its release.
Regards,
Akshay

i'm sorry nothing too impressive here... maybe the n95 8gig but but we already knew that was coming... and it's just a minor tweaking of the n95 (but a worthy one)
the n81.. looks nice in pictures but it's nasty in real life....
otherwise the 2 music phones are just midrangers nokia has to release to battle in the music department...
