It seems just like the P990 all over again there are some really good units and those are with the people that praise it and like it. Then there seem to be other units that are well below par and that people are complaining about even on this forum. You would of thought all units would of been more or less the same quality but for some strange reason this just doesn't seem to be the case. I don't claim to know how or even why this is so but is how it appears to be.

Marc i don't think mobileburn's crew got a bum unit.. i think they didn't like the phone and that's why it got a "not recommended rating"... nothing wrong with that... after all a review is based on opinion and perspective...

@DrgonEye
Of course i agree not everyone is going to all like all the same devices but why the differences in peoples experiences some that are completely happy and have little or no problems and yet others that are very dissatisfied and having lots of problems. This seems to be exactly the same to me as what happened with the P990 doesn't it?
As i said i have no idea why or how this is happening but it is what appears to be going on from reading the forum.

@Marc
A lot of the forum gibberish releates to preference and habits...even if you walkthrough the bug thread... the most glaring issue people are having to do with wifi connectivity.. (i bet some of those people don't even realize this phone only supports b freq)
otherwise the other bugs being identified are not showstoppers.. then are bugs that are no different then minor bugs found in all phones... SE should address them but having these minor bugs doesn't automatically classify the device as buggy junk just like my p990i..
yes we've seen reports of failed cameras and other hardware failures but that's no different then people's complaints about the n95 screen dying on them... these are issues out of the norm....
most of the issues of the p1i are user issues.. people may not like the UI.. but it is how SE dev guys designed it for whatever the reason...
from a hardware perspective the p1i is no marvel it does lack 850, edge and is using a dated processor..but honestly at this point i rather se tinker around and fix old tech before they move to new tech and start p990 chaos part two

@DragonEye
Fair points and i mostly agree with what you say but how could SE release the P1 with some of the same bugs as found on the P990? This is something i just can't understand you would of thought after the P990 episode SE would of done everything they could to of made sure the P1 was was as close to perfect as possible and should definitely not of had the same bugs as present as the P990 should it.
Also how come only one Network in the UK has picked up after all what is SE's newest flagship device i just don't understand it, do you?

I do not know why you trust Mobile Burn, they gave the iPhone (a far inferior device, a favourable rating. Look at M-R.

@Dogmann, the fact that SE started shipping the P1 in its current state is precisely the reason why P1 is destined to have the same ending as the P990.
As far as the review goes, I agree with most of what is said except for the menu part which does take some time to get used to, then it's OK.

The reviewer specifically states the ex P series owners will feel at home with the P1 but for the new commers, the UI is just an ugly mess.
