Very nice read. I seriously expected more from the specialized "Cybershot" branded K850. After all, all the K850 has going for it is the camera and not much else. The 'almost' year old N95 held it's own and surpassed it in certain aspects is not a good sign for SE. I hope SE irons out the camera in it's final retail version.

No doubts that in the pre-released versions the K850i is a huge dissapointment, beaten easily by both the N95 and Samsung G600.

If what mibbs said was true, and the lens really is poor, the final version isnt gonna be better.

An all-in-one device trashes a dedicated Cybershot phone. That should reduce the K850 to total scrap if we start comparing other features. It's midday and the alarm clock still hasn't rang at SE

I think it's quite imperative that we include video, because let's face it, we can't name a single dedicated digital camera in the market these days that doesn't have video capability, it's even implied with every purchase. So K850 still loses IMO

Hi all,
Yes of course remove the Video feature and then SE wins, then add back in the fact that the N95 is a Multimedia smart phone not just a camera phone. Then remember just how long the N95 has already been on the market for and he fact that with each new firmware the camera has been improved.
Also remember the N95 isn't even the real competition for the K850 that's going to be the N82 which will also have a Xenon flash and more focused on being a camera phones.
No wonder Miles Flint has bailed now while the going was still good obviously he is much more aware of what's going on @SE then the rest of you. Personally i think UIQ3 and SE's customer support and attitude was enough to help him reach his decision.
What i do find really funny is if this review said the K850 was best it would of been the best and most accurate review ever, yet because it doesn't and seems to agree with a few other reviews it's just a rubbish review isn't it.
But everyone is free to buy which ever device they feel is best for them and suits them best but really you need to stop slating other devices just for the sake of it or because it doesn't have an SE badge.
Marc

Mervy:
well, Lets remove flash too while we're at it and the result is:
K850:25 - N95:28
Then you can remove the Macro shots, so on and so forth ...
Bottom line is, The K850's ONLY selling point is it's 'Cybershot' branded camera and it's getting trashed by an all-in-one convergence device. I hope for SE's sake it's at least half the price of the N95 upon release or things might go south for it.
And by the time the K850 is released, isn't there a rumor of a Nokia S60 device with 5MP, WiFi, GPS and flash floating around?!

HaHa, speak for yourself friend

, it's always best to be totally dispassionate about ones chosen brand, or your liable to be left with a Lemon!! (every manufacturer puts one out every so often).
TBH the K850i majors on it's photographic prowess, if it lacks that, then it's a hollow concept.
