We are talking here from the consumer point of view. Sony and Ericsson and now SonyEricsson answer not to the consumer but the Stock Holder. And they wouldn't be happy right now if they split

the day SE would split and Ericsson would start making phones again the way they always did would be the best day of my life so far.
we need innovation and no brand is giving us that! Ericsson had working prototypes that where far more advanced then today's phones, and that was more then 5years ago.
SE has become sony and they are losing the old fans.
Brands like Neonode and Apple are doing what Ericsson did, taking a step ahead.

Nokia should team up with Samsung they both make good phones and Samsung have the style by far

True that. Ericsson were the leader in innovation, until Sony stuffed them up.

I'm a Sony fan (apart from their DRM policy) generally, but the Sony handsets I've seen were boring and klutzy so I'm unsure of their ability to make decent handsets without Ericsson's input.

If Ericsson ever got back into the mobile market full time I'd have to be interested. Ericsson always made the best phones imho.

I hate all the DRM kind of things!

Hi all,

I used to be a huge Sony fan as they used to produce not only the best quality products but there was always something just a little bit special about them. All my stuff from Tvs to AV equipment were all Sony. But sorry IMO over the last few years Sony are cashing in on their name and charging premium prices for the privilege of a Sony badge and IMO the quality is no longer as it was. Slowly i have stopped buying any Sony products as just find there are far better and cheaper alternatives and that goes for virtually everything they make now. I really can't think of one exception or one Sony product i truly want.

Marc
