K618 is simply better because it has separate M2 cover instead of the whole battery cover just like in K610 in first place. it also comes with 256mb M2 card on-the-box.

in K610, if you were to switch your M2 card, you must open the battery closure which means that if you're using crystal or silicon case, you must open the case first. however, i prefer K610 such that it's looks slimmer and better than K618. some more, it has blue keylight, rather than orange which is offered on K618.
overall i must say it's a good phone. although i don't own both K610 and K618, but i do play with my classmates' K610 and K618 in hours.

K610 feels slimmer in my hand, and more stylish, where K618 seems to be look like a walkman phone... (white and orange or black and orange).

both phones have loud speakers and the menu inside the phone is totally the same. only default themes and pictures are slightly different (iirc)...

overall, if i were to choose between both, i'd rather choose K610 cause in the past 4 years, i've been using T310, K508, W550. all those 3 phones have orange backlight and that really bore me up!!
about the M2, its getting cheaper nowadays... i bought a 2GB M2 for about 80$ on march accompanying my new K800 that time, but last week i saw most stores selling it for 37$.... (perhaps the upcoming 8gb made the M2 price going down...)

anyway, it's your choice..... hope u an make good deal about this....
Good Luck.

You should note that the K610's camera is worthless, and it has no radio or Irda. Buy a W810 for a cheaper amount of money. My cousin was discontented with his K610, so he bought a W810 and was way happier. What does the K610 do that the W810 doesn't do?

Nice and elegant phone. If you mainly talk and not very much, the battery can last 7-8 days or even more (in GSM network only).

3G is VIDEO-call mate ! Yes, the K610i is a 3G fone . . . but like what I have said . . . I like the joystick on the K618i than with that of the K610i . . . !

Not only. during the 1,5 years I have had my K800i, I think I have made two or three video calls, only for testing that it works. Due to the price policy for video calls that my operator has, it's far too expensive.
For me, 3G stands for much faster internet access. It is a very big difference between internet access using the 3G network compared to GPRS.

About the K610i, if you can live with a 2Mpixel camera without a Xenon flash instead of a 3.2Mpixel camera, don't want a radio, and can agree with a lower screen resolution (The physical dimensoins are otherewise almost the same), you should buy the K610i is instead of the somewhat more expensive K810i.

The K610i is somewhat lighter and thinner.

The lack of joystick on K610i is not necessarily bad. Yoou get used to the navigation pad very fast, and the joysticks of all models are known to become troublesome after a couple of year's usage.

My friend's K618 has terrible screen, especially when displaying camera shots. So bad, too dark..far inferior to K750i or K600i.

Vodafone's version of the K618, the V630 is awesome value. You get a K618 in black and orange which looks cool, a 256MB M2 card, USB cable + Disc to Phone software, handsfree headphones AND plug in stereo speakers which sound great! Features include A2DP BT stereo, a very good 2.0MP NON-auto focus camera, 3G high speed downloads (384 kbps) mobile TV and video calling, Awesome UI and calender / alarm functionality, not to mention great freeware such as Themes from Zedge dot com and the best phone sync software - MyPhoneExplorer. MPE alone will have you hooked on for life...

Well, Vodafone Egypt carries the V630:

What I'm not sure of, is if they'll have the 256 MB card, and the free software you're talking about. I'd have to give them a call and check.

So the sole differences between K618 and K610 are seperate M2 cover, orange keylight instead of blue, slightly different themes, and a joystick instead of dpad? Not very convincing

Why dont you try the new K530

Simple. It costs atleast twice as much as the K610.

You should note that the K610's camera is worthless, and it has no radio or Irda. Buy a W810 for a cheaper amount of money. My cousin was discontented with his K610, so he bought a W810 and was way happier. What does the K610 do that the W810 doesn't do?

Well, the K610 is Java Platform 7, while W810 is Java Platform 6, which means its Java implementation is more advanced. and According to JBenchmark, it's more powerful than the W810(faster 2D and 3D games). And I don't need the IrDa, Bluetooth is enough for me. And I also don't need the Radio These two aren't making me want to pay $50 more.
And how could the W810 camera be better if both are 2 MP?

Nice and elegant phone. If you mainly talk and not very much, the battery can last 7-8 days or even more (in GSM network only).

Good to hear that. Although I will probably have to recharge the battery more often since I play a lot with my phone

Thank you! I wanted to know if there was a way to access the internet using the faster 3G. Glad to hear there is
And I can easily live with a 2 MP no-flash camera, its much better than what I used to have in my Nokia 3220.

BTW, the offer now has changed, it's now K610i + 3120 minutes of calling for free + Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset for the same price ($199). That's why I'm really tempted to buy this phone, I won't get such an offer with other phones.
But if the phone has a big problem or feature missing, then I shouldn't buy it. Which is why I'm asking you
