is the hpm-82 quality the same as those used in walkman-branded phones out of the box? i have an h82 and i was disappointed with the sound
Yes it is. It is just that the actual sound quality of walkman phones is better than that of K, P or Z phones (except the K750).
By the way, what mobile do you have? I have the K800, and put Walkman acoustics on it.
I'm using the K750i. Lol. I wanna do something about the acoustics! Please help.

Also got a pair from ebay and even though they sound pretty fine they have a problem sticking in my phone. They pop loose very easily... Came in the original (plastic) packaging though. Not in a simple plastic bag.
I also (seem to have) bought some fake HBH-DS970 and they look almost identical to the original (atleast, I can't spot a difference) so I guess the fakes are pretty good when just looking at the outsides.
A case of 'if it looks too good to be true, it probably is...'.

Firstly, thanks for the reply buddy.
Secondly, my pair has the same damn problem! They pop loose very easily. Even the slightest touch makes them pop out and the music plays out of my speaker phones instead.

Heh, well... I usually have the phone on silent so that doesn't happen. But loosing the sound is irritating enough. Also, sometimes the buttons seem to stop working when such a thing happens...
Ah well, I know ordered the DS980 from a normal shop so hopefully all my problems will be solved with that one

It is fake. Look a closer look on some HPM-70 fake and original:

honestly those differences are trivial. If they don't come down to expected manufacturing tollerances, and are indeed fake, they are such good quality fakes that I can't see how they couldn't also replicate the performance just as easily.
Fakes are highly obvious, not these minor differences.
