A friend of my that worked at Ericsson in Lund a few years ago, tested the T28, by dropping it from the second floor down on the first floor (stone) in the Ericsson building. It was a drop of about 3-4m. He tried it a few times (of course with the flip closed)... No problems at all and even the flip was still in one piece
That is quality...

The guy at Ericsson told me its because the design of the phone is made so the battery is about the same weight and size. They incorporate it into the fone in a way that when it falls the shock is distrubuted evenly. ive thrown my T39 against the wall and smashed on the ground to prove to friends that their shock proof nokia sucks.

After i drop my T68i and got screched, i had 2 brake it, so that I could claim a new 1 off my insurance. It had taken me over 30mins 2 brake it. Now they have fixed it, it look like new :D

If you are truly mad enough to try this but I am sure it is a sturdily built phone can last some falls but kids don't try this at home.

I have to say that it's because the T68 is so robust that convinced me to get the phone. I had an Ericsson r310, probably the most bomb proof phone ever made, but it was slow and getting outdated. I had apprehensions about upgrading to a t68, because it looked so puny, til one day while wall climbing, I was watching this guy deal with a overhang about 40ft up. Suddenly I see this phone slip out of his pocket, fall onto concrete, bounce across the floor and finally settle in the gutter. The guy climbing continues his route, then comes down, gets his phone back from his mate who picked it up with hardly a scratch on it! He made a couple of calls after, maybe to check it if everything was in order, and it was. I was in a mild shock. When I recovered, my mind was made up. Got my phone the next day.

Whole heartedly agree on the robustness of the t68....had a bad scare just the eve of xmas...wuz at a pub and dropped my handset accidentally on to the cold hard concrete floor....to make matters worst, i then kicked it (coz it wuz kinda dark) when i went looking for it and it bounced off the wall.....i was devastated man!!! but upon closer examination, only the edge above the volume slider was scratched and slightly dented.....tried making a few calls and it works, tried shaking it some and there were no jinggly noises inside.....wuz even able to receive calls....thank god.....
