Does the business card scanner actualy work on the P1? I hope so, My P990i has only ever managed to make the BCS work once! All being well I should recived my second P1 on wednesday. My first P1 was a disaster it woud not attach to GPRS or 3G networks.

Business card scanner works beautifully for me. Except for text with script and IDK why, but it imports everything capatalised. Not a big deal, but being a little OCD I have to go clean it up.

Thats the show off feature to my mom. Otherwise I love the RSS reader and the standby screen with the customizable shortcuts. Since most people use S60, they don't have as nice a shortcut system.

The business card scanner is a pretty impressive feature, when it works. Seems to be pretty hit and miss, it will either get pretty much all of the data or nothing at all really.

I've noticed this is actually a feature on the Samsung u600 (I presume some other models too.) Had a quick go of it on a card, failed to recognise though. Does anyone have access to do a comparison between its success rate and our p1's with a few cards?

Just being able to handwrite a text message still impresses people, even though I've been doing that since the P800....

@pwwn3d

I have the P990i and I've been using the card scanner frequently since in my line of bussiness I get loads of cards....
The best thing is that I get all the info from the card pretty quick, sync it to my pc contacts lsit and even if ther could be some mistakes usually a quick revison and typing is all that's needed......
Definaly Beats typing in all the data from each card.....
The only trick is to try and get the picture correct from the first time....with some practice it works !!!!!

Sorry for the "ad" but when speaking about show-off you might want to consider BallRoom, which can display (for example) an animated image on the upper-left corner of the screen, (almost) independently of which program is running in the foreground. This is quite unique in any smartphone.
