just to share something related...
It's branded as "Super" and got it from one of the numerous accessory shops around our area (Baguio City, Philippines) and cost me only PhP 50.00..
Hope this pic gives you an idea of the case's utility to me... So far its serving its purpose especially when my son is toying around with its host of games

please see attached pics:

I got the same case but mine's transparent. I've only had it on for barely a few minutes after I bought it before I decided to remove it because it was making it hard to reach some of the keys. Anyway, I've just realised that my camera lens is scratched! I have no idea how it could have happened since nothing usually gets in contact with it.

deluded: Yup, i also still get scratches altho my right front pocket is exclusive to my W810i. Reaching all the keys with my rubber case is not a problem though...

Btw, just posted a new thread with my new "modded" W810i housing/casing... Just bought a thin protective film for my LCD and with my new "back", I'm now done with my rubber case

Please try to see the said thread under General Discussions... Hope it could give you an idea... A pleasant day ahead to you!

@aldrinus, I keep my W810 in my left front pocket and there's nothing else in my pocket, so I'm a little puzzled as to how the camera lens could have gotten scratched. Makes me miss my K750 a little. I saw the mod you did in your other thread, you did a great job and you chose the right housing since the colours are very similar. I wouldn't dare do such a mod myself as my W810 is still relatively new and covered by warranty. Perhaps in due time I'd get a black K750 housing and do the same mod you did. Was it difficult and were there much modifications to the original chassis of the W810 apart from the cutting you mentioned? The housing you got seems to be of good quality, may I ask where you bought it from? Thanks!

deluded: very sorry for this LATE reply...

Got the spare Class A housing from the numerous Muslim traders here in our city. The modding is quite easy since you only need to cut a portion of the concerned wall that I mentioned in my previous posting. Instead of cutting the entire wall, just cut half of it since you only need to have a "way" for the sliding mechanism of the lens cover to pass thru it. Try to check the photo of the w800i chassis I posted and observe very well the said opening or "way". That's the only portion that you are to cut. I am telling you it's real easy and almost anyone can do it. Just be very careful and do the procedure slowly since you are cutting a portion that protects (the wall) the precious camera lens.

I shall try to post the picture of my very own chassis soon so that I could show you how it looked like after the "operation". That way, you could also get an idea on how you are going to do yours...

Ciao...

No worries, and thanks for your very helpful reply! Seems like a really interesting mod, I've seen the pictures you've posted, so I know what you're referring to regarding the modification to the housing. It'll be different for the K750 housing though, if I'm not wrong. No worries, I know some of us here on Esato have done it, so all I have to do is search! Thanks again!

@deluded:

Upon observation of my own fone’s scratches, I think the lens itself is not actually glass but quite of the ceramic glass quality. If it is of the typical glass type, it should not have easily developed the said scratches. Only ceramic quality glass gets scratched that easy. Please correct me if I’m wrong… I myself have done everything to protect my camera lens to no avail. That’s why I came up with this modding project for my fone. I don’t want the lens to be scratched again and again and lose its capabilities  It was a pleasure “talking” with you under this forum. Good luck.

I am posting in a little while the step-by-step guideline of this mod project of mine... Please try to see it when you have the time.

@aldrinus
i use the same case(i don't think its good for the screen protection) which u use + this pouch

another small doubt:-
will keeping the phone in this pouch in any way scratch the lens? I have mine free from any foreign material and the surface of the pouch is very soft!

the "glass" is a polycarbonate type of material, neither ceramic or glass. It's tough, but not as hard as glass or ceramic. Polycarbonate is just an extra tough form of plastic. (used in quality sunglasses as a cheaper alternative to glass lenses)

Also the coating often gets scratched off before the plastic itself get's scratched. I know people with K750's who managed to scratch the lens also. I think the only solution is to use a case such as a phone sock, or a case that provides a deep whole (such as Reo's case) so that nothing can rub against the surface.
