..whatever the motivation - it's "new technology" (bleh), as they say.. And you probably will get a bit more support with Optimobile than Fring, after all.

@Nipsen,
But it doesn't support Skype and most people i know use Skype not services that use SIP which can be complicated to set up, and if paying 25 Euros you are entitled to get support. Which by the way Fring also offers even though it's free and their responses whilst not immediate are still quite quick in my experience less than 24hrs.

Well, at least you can shout over the phone at people who have to listen no matter what.
Anyway...doesn't Fring support SIP as well, now?

The once or twice I've tried fring it refused to work as the SIP server I wanted to connect to didn't have an internet wide DNS name, internal only stuff.
Why on earth the fring service wanted to talk directly to the server I don't quite know.
I don't know much about the OptiMobile client, but I would hope it integrates slightly better than fring does for making calls anyway. It would be good if it was properly integrated by SE, i.e contacts could have SIP extensions etc so you wouldn't even need a desk phone, the mobile could do it all. Maybe one day..

SIP with fring works fine for me too, except 2 little issues:
- There's a time "delay" when I talk to someone geographically away (300km), that doesn't exist when I talk to someone in the same city (sry for bad english)
- I can't call a SIP number from my contacts, I have to enter the number manually

Hi there.
6 months and some updates later...
Does any one have a feedback on how Uniphone works now ?
Does it worth the price ?
