I have experienced the same thing now when I was in Ireland and had O2 as operator (roaming with Telia 3g attached). I use HBH-DS980 bluetooth headset and listen to music. After a while I can’t receive or call with my phone. Just get two bips and call is disconnected. I when restart my phone it is working as it should. I have not experienced this home in Sweden.

It was written that I am using the latest version which is true for my CDA and I just reinstalled it.
And this doesn't solve the problem.

Since this is a single CPU phone, the multi-tasking is simulated by the Symbian OS.
If your game/application (specially if it's Java) monopolizes the processor/audio, the background task in charge for the incoming calls may not have enough processor to do it's job.
This is very common on WM6 machines, but uncomon on Symbian.
Edit: I'm not sure it's this problem - I'm only theorizing.

hi there guys, for those of you who are having call problems, i think i may have a solution. i was having the same problem with my p990i which is less months old from brand new. i took it back and they want to take it back to upgrade software version which i have already done. so i played around on my p990i and eventually solved the problem by deactivating 3G and i could receive calls during open applications and i did not want to throw my p990i against the wall anymore.

@Lau
Symbian is a pre-emptive multitasking operating system, processes & threads all receive a fixed cpu slice. Unless the underlying task scheduler gets locked a single app should not be able to take all cpu time. In practice poor memory management (either at an OS or application level) normally causes a symbian equivalent of a protected memory error (anyone remember those from win95?) which freezes the system up.
