Well, actually Ericsson was the first to come out with the idea of attachable mobile imaging through MCA-10 which was compatible with models as early as R320 and R520m and later with T20e, T29, T39m.

Yeah, Motorola did have a good head start in the business and had ample time to explore various designs and styles, rightly becoming leaders in this respect. And kudos to Siemens who seemed to be the only manufacturer to get ahead of Moto and break the monopoly. Just wondering if there are anymore room for new form factors to emerge. I just can't see it though

i would say that siemens, motorola, and ericsson are the 3 most innovate brands.

well, i think that NEC had the first quadband phone. moto released one not long after (ie v600).

First Slim phone i guess was the Samsung C100, though it's not as slim as Motorola's RAZR that have started the trends for slim phones

Ericsson's HPM-10 MP3 player started having the MultiMedia card (MMC) slot first AFAIK, but HPM-10 is an attachment, not onboard slot.
