yh that sounds like a good idea as long as it isnt a flatscreen one
but i dont think there is much point taking it to service centre as it wont be covered by warrany anymore and they will most probably deem it dead....although they could try putting it in one of those sonic bath thingys

i have actually observed this when i opened my w810 before. the camera button's lights as well as the LEDs went constantly on when i did my opening the first time. so i opened it again and see what went wrong, checked all of the fittings and everything by removing all the concerned slots and contacts and returning them back (this time with all the care and precision i have), and the second opening made it work fine that time.
anyway, that's just a suggestion. i often employ the principle of "isolation" whenever i encounter such in any of practical life situations: by trying to see all the possible reasons and eliminating those that don't apply and (hopefully) finally arriving at the one and only cause of the problem... so there
