Youre right k750 and
w800i,k800.k810 all takes better photos than k850 imo.I find k850 pics noisy
Its my opinion and people could stick to tell wht they want to tell the author.
did u pick up the K850's first version or, i 've heard there is new version which has slight improvements in build quality,but of course it doesn not good to picture quality.

I agree with numb. had my k850i for 3 weeks now, and just as angry and upset as you are. I have had camera phones since they were invented, and these are the worst photo's taken by a camera phone i own. Mostly when using the flash, they come out nearly pitch black, and i take most of mine in a club, therefore the phone is useless. Even worse, SE are nottaking responsibilty and admitting the fault when ive called them and emailed them, and orange wont help me either as they have no fault from SE, and when i went to swap it, the phone in the shop did exaclty the same thing, but orange's answer is, well thats just how the phone functions. Because mine was an upgarde, i am really stuffed and stuck with a phone i hate for the next 18 months, and extremely angry at orange for not helping me.

the point to a phone cam is to "point and shoot" and have have a great photograph. the k850 does not deliver.
all the praisers say: "you have to hold it properly", "good users take good shots", "keep the ISO low", "manually input the settings", "spin three times, click your heels and say please, please, please", blah blah.
the rest of the 5mp cam-phones in its class are good out of the box: just "point-and-shoot". while the regular k850 users (average consumer)are left scratching their heads, end up with dark photos and an out-of-sync flash because they hold their phones a certain way.

Well I'll have my 2 penneth worth as well - I really wish I'd never got the 850.
I shoul dhave stayed with my trusty, reliable, dependable k810.
Much better in terms of point and shoot. quicker UI response in fact better
all round.
I really don't hold much hope of the firmware fixing it either.
Unlike some I'm still waiting for Orange UK to make a decision as to whether
my problems warrant a replacement (bad pictures, reboots, operation failed
etc) or not !!!
Now currently seriously considering going over to the "dark side" and getting
an N series

Do I have to use the 'twilight mode' every time I need the xenon flash to fire? Isn't there an 'AUTO' mode in the K850 to take care of everything for me?
