The K850 supports both.

I'd choose M2 for prestige purposes (as it is expensive )

I'd Choose Micro-SD if i don't need to be prestigious

M2

I would just like to make it clear that i'm comparing SD with Standard memory stick as the difference between them is only the size and voltage. as to technical design they're all the same. so consider M2 as an MSPD

PROS
1. larger capacity that can support up-to 8GB(not available yet)
AFAIK, it also has the theoretical capacity of 32GB although no MS has gone there before...

2. more reliable on data storage

3. every memory stick is quality made (imagine an Ipod and a $30 mp3 player) just don't buy fakes!

CONS
1. Expensive

2. not many devices supports MS. but if all gadgets you have are sony, you won't have a hard time.

Micro SD
PROS
1. wide range of compatibility
2. cheap
3. more common/acceptable
4. Micro SD is an open platform

CONS
1. the bad side of cheap: many Micros out there are not reliable in data storage. just make sure you buy only well known brands on storage devices like sandisk.

Just from my basic research...

Kingston micro sd
Read 9MB/sec, Write: 7MB/sec

M2
Read 10MBps Write 3MBps

I'm going to buy Sandisk memory card, so comparing microSD and M2 from Sandisk - are there also such a big differences in writing speed? If so, microSD seems to be a better choice.

from my personal experience with these two memory card types, i could say that the memory stick is better along general terms especially with reliability. my almost a year of Samsung D600 use gave me two busted microSDs (Sandisk 512MB and a Kingston 1GB) that lead me where i started with it in the first place -- its very own Sandisk 64MB that came with the package:-(

i would forget the write speed in the name of reliability.

just my two cents... cheers!

I've been told you can also use a Micro SD in the P1i, is this true?
