n90 is way too plastic, imo not the best quality. more those with the sainless stell covers. wondering why se dont release some steel coverd fones, even just some aparts. for example w950 or m600 would have deserved it

some have better build quality then others......think Nokias have less phones who feels top-solid...)..(but they also have phones who have very good build quality)..

have more cheaper phones who feels more solid.

stake on:
Design, (both build quality and appearance),
Music,
Camera,
Simplicity, (clean, easy, menys)
Java based phones, (which means faster, easier UI, but less extra features)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nokia stake more on:
high tech features, (like gps, wlan, etc..)
symbian based smartphones (the ability to install a lots of programs yourself and a lots of functions..little slower UI)
Multimedia,
Video, (N93i....etc)....
Camera ???? !!!!! Nokia have only one phone (who also is brand new) with real flash..and thats N82... (so you cant say that Nokia have stake on the camera features before)

Past experiances have shown me that SE build quality is very poor, every single SE hand set i own had to be replace 2 or 3 times per year, excluding the T68i which was fantasic, and still works!
Nokias never felt that well made but i never had to replace one.
The best build quality ive had on a phone is the iPhone by a country mile

one thing is fact. years ago, ppl bought mobiles for long time ( usage ) not as today. the market is different, ppl swap in average their mobiles every half year, so we are at the quantity again...
just look at /// gh388 or nokia 2110. those were times

i can use my t630, w810 & k800 like a hammer, they never breaks.....
(even my t610, k750, k810 & k850 feels solid.....but t630, w810 & k800 is number one)
you who say that Nokia make solid phones...just look at N95 original...what more can i say..terrible build quality, (and was realy expensive)...

Build quality varies from handset to handset. For instance the K800i has poor build quality but the W880i is superb. My Nokia 6300 has the most solid build i have ever seen in a phone but other Nokias have poor build. So its not just one manufactuer over the other its each phone is different.

especially the k800 batt cover is very bad and easy to brake. also the m2 slots are generally poor made by se, that plastic thingy is a night mare. just look at w580 or k800.
of course other brands make disappointing solutions too, but when se is so proud of music and multimedia, then they should give more attention to those aparts like, like how to manage the mem cards

Lol, well the SEs ive had (W800, W900, W880) had great build quality, the W900 was a Tank it took A LOT of punishment yet the Swivel mechanisim remaind solid, the glossy parts only startd to get scratchs after 10months otherwise SE had done a super job with W900.
Got my N80 5months ago and its been great! Not the best build quality though the slider is pretty loose but not too bad, and the paint on the navi pad is chipping off a bit otherwise its as good as it was when i got it. memory card door is fine, and battery cover is also pretty good all in all the N80 and N95 (early batch) seem to suffer from poor slider build.
