What Nightblade said...

I'm focusing on those phones where the camera was the key feature. So I'm not counting the "P" and models.

The T610/616/630/637 are there because they touted the "QuickShare" capability. The S700i/S710a had a remarkable (for the time) camera module. The rest are "Cybershot" models.

Please, let's keep this timeline of camera-CENTRIC phones more tightly focused. Thanks.

Oh ok.
I would still include the P800 as it was the first SE with a built in camera.

K750i
K790a/K790i/K800i

(bold indicating N. America compatibility, i.e., 850 & 1900 MHz bands included)

I thought T630/T637 was the first "dual front" phone?

K770 3.15 MP (2048x1536 pixels) autofocus, video, LED flash, secondary VGA videocall camera; Announced 2007, August

Of course, this is only if we're talking about camera-centric phones, because most of these phones had their opponents with almost the same camera, for example

K700, had K300, K310, Z500 and every other SE VGA phone

S700 & S710, had V800, K600, V600, K510 W550, and every other SE 1.3 MP phone, although S700 was the only one to have CCD sensor

Then in the Walkman era, almost every camera-centric phone had it's opponent with the same quality in the beginning, but later worse without AF, flash, with smaller lenses...

K750, had D750, W800, W810, W900, & P990 which had the same quality and weren't camera-centric, and many other like W850, K610....every other SE 2 MP, which had worse quality.

K800, K790, K810, K818, had P1 with slightly worse quality, W960 almost the same quality, W890 with worse quality, without AF, flash

K770, has T650, which is practically the same phone, without camera cover and with different housing, which can be swapped.

K850, still doesn't have any opponent, it's still the only SE 5 MP phone

For me these are the best Sony Ericsson camera phones:

K770, T650, P1 & W960 can squeeze in too, because they have a decent 3 MP cameras too!

No, the K700 was the first camera phone for which SE used the term "dual fronts".

The term refers to the use of camera styling cues, and the K700 was the first SE camera phone where the camera part actually looked like a camera and not just a phone with a camera in it.

I'd also include the K610, as it was marketed as a camera phone, even though it's not AF.

SaLiH afaik T630 has VGA resolution, not CIF

I wont call K850 the best 5mp camera but the SO905iCS because of a more decent Sensor and optical zoom

A long time ago (shows my age since I had it then)

Ericsson was working on the concept of a "cameraphone" (supposedly with Canon) The end result was this:

and this

These worked on the T39, R520, and T68 (prior to it becoming the T68i) as well as the midrange T65.

On the T39 and R520, it took colored pics, but the phone would only display a grayscale (B&W) preview of it, but a full-color photo could be sent via MMS, email or beamed to a PC. (Although only the T68 could receive a colored MMS at the time)

The MCA-10 was repackaged by as the MCA-25 & 30 I believe, to carry the SonyEricsson name (no logo was developed at the time yet)
