What I wish from SE phones in general:

1. By all means use the Sony experience on emotional design, light, compact and snappy.
2. Dont get to emotionally attached to some of the low Sony std, for example purple infested camera modules, memory stick etc. Use a better modules even if its needed from other sources and use a std that used widely like micro sd (no need double to save space).

My wish for the future phones:

1. Wifi and related applications for all mid high end ranges.
2. Dont be stinggy with using large and good resolution screen.
3. Integrated WM touchscreen friendliness for high end touch screen phone.
4. Brings back the screen saver
3. Adjustable text size from small to XL when reading Inbox messages, emails, web (just like the old T39)
4. Keep the micro sd slot get away with micro stick std
5. More elegant and easy keypad ala K770 with more elegant colors choice
6. Keep the torchlight (sos option). Led default for close distance dark photo and xenon above 1 meter distance at dark
7. Built-in sirf3 gps with third party maps option.
8. Make a 2.4-2.8" candybar or 3.5 to 4 inch compact slider for people to choose.
9. Better camera modules please and keep the silent mode shutter.
10. 4 band 3G HSUPA EDGE for all mid to high range
11. More emotional Flash themes ala S500 and shake control for all mid-high end models.
12. Lockable/password protected files (just incase the phone lost)
13. Blacklist for callers, along with a whitelist
14. Better video recording
15. TV out
16. Lower SAR
17. 3.5mm jack or adaptor
18. Better battery
19. Competitive pricing
20. Better build quality, dont make the same crappy mistakes as S500
21. Integrated windows to the smartphone series, dual mode keypad ala rumoured P5 is nice.

I know some of the wishes is probably a little to ahead But nothing is impossible if SE wants to try. It badly needs a blockbuster to pacify the more advance users out there.

I believe Nokia was in similar situation before. However It can prove to overcome the difficulties and produce winners. I believe SE can too providing it sincerely wants to. Otherwise it is no stopping from their supporters to jump to other brands. Good luck SE

1. Release phones on schedule.
2. Don't dilute brands by sticking them on sub-par products.
3. Start putting in 16 million color screens.
4. Forget the megapixel race and release a Cyber-shot flagship with a high quality sensor (one that beats the i-mobile 902 hands down) and optical zoom.

I think lately SE has been focusing on low-mid range phones because they think that's where the market is, they're probably right. But they should realize that the N95 is so iconic that people who can't afford it would just settle for anything Nokia simply for the security of being under a leading brand. SE can produce a million low-end models a year and I won't be bummed by that, just as long as they produce just ONE kickass innovative, feature-rich, ahead of its time phone as an anchor that would ultimately make their millions of low-end phones seem more attractive. It's win-win, us techies would be contented for at least another year or two, and SE can sell their millions. And please, just listen to your consumers' feedbacks on your crappy products of late because 90% of the answers that would lead to your profit are here under you nose dammit.

The Japanese to make sure the fish for the sushi is fresh and the Swedish to make sure the right amount of wheat flour, eggs, milk and salt have been mixed for the pancakes...

Don't forgot every one are not like us here in Esato or technical freak ...

SE is on the right way, as Mode write SE is focus low and midrange phones, that's the strategy to get more mark share worldwide,,

What I do believe is next year SE will bring us some interesting, like phone with VGA resolution.. don't expect more from SE this year, next year will be a hit ..

It would be nice if SE would muster enough wisdom to do the following in the non-smartphone area:

1. improve build quality - no more paint peeling off, d-pads cracking, dust collecting camera lens covers etc.

2. fit autofocus and LED light in ALL mid-high and high end camera phones

3 radio and track ID should be a must in design phones as well (w880 - no radio, T650 badly misses track ID just as the pricey W910 misses AF and / or LED light)

4. standby clock and event notification should be a universal feature (T100 - entry level phone released in 2003 has standby clock and T650 does not!)

5. bring back the jog dial - it is an extremely useful navigation feature that has somehow nowadays become reserved for smartphones (again even T100 has it)

6. get rid of the infamous hiss in phones once and for all and release firmware correcting the issue in older models (not everyone changes their phone once / twice a year...)

7. provide more regular firmware releases for SE phones across the range (including smartphones) and thoroughly test FW before releasing phones in the first place (K850 and W910 owners would surely agree, to name but a few )

Paying more attention to at least some of these should help improve customer confidence in the brand and last but not least, an innovative all-rounder is what more tech-oriented users have been waiting for for too long now.

Cheers!

and not to forget: release emergency firmware when it's needed (k850).
Fix the simple bugs right away (shouldnt take more than a couple of days), then release a performance firmware later.

I'd like a handset made of metal with ADP2 and able to use Omniphone's Music Station [currently and unfortunately only available on Vodafone] with a large hi res screen, fm radio, wi fi, a camera as good as the k800i and a whole new payment method already installed on it so that the phone can be used to make payments with.

Why do we have to carry money or cheques aroung - mobiles have individual and identifiable reference points.

Don't want much

For now, I am happy with with the k800i
